JACOB ZUMA ESTABLISHES STRATEGIC PRESIDENTIAL TEAM TO LEAD MK PARTY AND DISSOLVES TASK TEAM
KASIBCAUDIO
DURBAN, KWAZULU-NATAL – President of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party), former South African President Jacob Zuma, has announced the formal establishment of a new Strategic Presidential Team (SPT) to act as the supreme decision-making and strategic body within the organization.
The directive, issued in terms of Section 7 2(h) of the MK Party Constitution, consolidates internal administrative authority, streamlines party operations, and immediately disbands the previously appointed Presidential Task Team (PTT).
Key Structural Changes and Organizational Mandate
The newly constituted Strategic Presidential Team is vested with overarching authority across all administrative, political, and financial functions of the party:
Dissolution of Presidential Task Team: The Presidential Task Team (PTT) has been formally dissolved, with all of its prior powers, mandates, and oversight duties transferred directly to the SPT.
Administrative & Financial Authority: The SPT assumes immediate responsibility for party administration, financial oversight, governance, and organizational coordination.
Centralized Decision-Making: The shift aims to eliminate fragmented decision-making structures, strengthen leadership architecture, and enforce disciplined execution of party resolutions ahead of local government elections.
Collaboration with National Officials
The statement emphasizes that the Strategic Presidential Team will work in tandem with the party's National Officials to maintain strategic coherence, enforce organizational discipline, and oversee the implementation of the MK Party's broader political mandate and electoral strategy.
Expressing full confidence in the new structure, Zuma stated that the consolidated leadership framework will provide unified direction to drive the organization's growth and operational readiness.
