BAIL HEARING IN REIGER PARK SHOOTING CASE POSTPONED FOR FURTHER HEARING
The bail hearing involving Regan Cheslyn Collins (23), Jamal Meyer (24), and Elvino Crawford (27) in the Boksburg Magistrates' Court has been postponed to 08 September 2026 for further hearing.
The State is opposing bail and has placed evidence before the court concerning the seriousness of the charges, the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences, the safety of the community, and the potential risk posed by the accused should they be released.
The accused face four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances, as well as charges relating to the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The charges arise from a fatal shooting incident that occurred in Reiger Park, Boksburg, on 07 August 2026, during which Roleen Lessing, Jayden Magerman, Constable Tomatsane, and Constable Sibeko were killed. The two police officers were members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Anti-Gang Unit.
The matter has been postponed for continuation of the bail proceedings.
