Facility Modernisation: EMS opened a newly constructed Central Fire Station in the Johannesburg CBD to replace the early 1900s heritage site, which was retired due to high maintenance costs and disrepair.
Improved Emergency Coverage: The new Central Fire Station provides safety services to the CBD and surrounding communities, reducing emergency response times.
Educational Integration: The facility houses Johannesburg's eleventh BESAFE Centre, offering specialized life and fire safety educational programs for local residents.

Delivery of Advanced Fleet: EMS received state-of-the-art fire engines to alleviate operational vehicle shortages and strengthen overall citywide emergency response capacity.
Modern Equipment Standards: The newly delivered fire engines feature cutting-edge technology to increase firefighting efficiency and safeguard EMS personnel and residents.
Executive Reaffirmation: Public Safety MMC Councillor Moshe Koma reaffirmed the department's commitment to ensuring EMS remains properly led and equipped to protect lives and property across Johannesburg.
