Anti-Gang Unit operations lead to multiple arrests in Eldorado Park, Riverlea, Germiston, Booysens and Westbury
GAUTENG - The Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) arrested 15 suspects in total commencing on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, for a variety of offenses, including drug possession, possession unlicensed firearms and ammunition, firearm pointing, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempted murder, and possession of counterfeit cigarettes.
These arrests emanate from numerous targeted operations executed in the various policing precincts.
During these operations, the AGU seized illegal substances, including mandrax tablets,crystal meth, firearms, ammunition, Mylan tablets, cartridges, a stolen vehicle, holsters and illicit cigarettes.
The AGU, in collaboration with specialized units such as the SAPS Crime Intelligence, Tactical Response Team (TRT), Public Order Policing Springs, resulted in the arrests of some of these individuals.
The AGU recovered two (2) 9mm pistols, 14 rounds of live ammunition, two magazines, 17 ziplocks containing crystal meth, a vehicle stolen as per a Norkem Park SAPS case, counterfeit cigarettes, mylan tablets, mandrax tablets, two cartridges and dagga.
A 24-year-old suspect was arrested for attempted murder in Riverlea, and in a separate incident a 43-year-old was arrested for pointing of firearm after both being positively identified by the complainants.
All arrested suspects have since appeared before their respective courts.
