GAUTENG — The South African Police Service (SAPS) Gauteng Counter Intelligence Operations (GCI-OPS) has arrested three suspects facing charges of money laundering and corruption. The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation on the N3 near the Tugela Plaza, where officers seized over R1.1 million in cash concealed in shoe boxes inside a Ford Ranger Raptor.

The primary suspect, a 42-year-old man, was intercepted after police received information that his vehicle was transporting illicit drugs. While no narcotics were recovered during the search, officers discovered the hidden cash, for which the driver was unable to provide a satisfactory source or accounting.

Seizures and Interrogation Interdict

Following the discovery at the Tugela Plaza toll point, officers seized several items for forensic and financial tracking:

• Privately Licensed Firearm
