The Gauteng Provincial Government calls on all residents and visitors attending the 2026 edition of the Rand Show to make time to visit the various government exhibition stands before leaving the event.

These stands provide a valuable opportunity for the public to access essential services, receive information, and engage directly with government officials.

A range of provincial departments and entities are present at the Rand Show taking place in NASREC, offering on-site services and support to the public:
• Department of Health: Free health screenings, HIV testing and counselling, information on preventative care, and access to wellness programmes. The activation also supports the 1.1 Million – Close the Gap campaign, which aims to locate and reconnect patients who have defaulted on treatment, especially for HIV and TB. Through this platform, residents will be encouraged to return to care, access screening services, and receive referrals for ongoing treatment and support.

• Department of Human Settlements: Assistance with housing applications and information on government housing programmes.

• Department of Community Safety: Public safety awareness, crime prevention tips, and community policing initiatives.

 • Department of e-Government:  Showcase the critical role in driving digital transformation, improving access to online government services, expanding connectivity, and ensuring that residents can engage with government more efficiently through technology.

• Department of Education: Information on school admissions, curriculum support, and education programmes.

• Department of Infrastructure Development: Showcase the work government is doing to improve public infrastructure, create jobs, and drive development across Gauteng.

This gives residents an opportunity to better understand ongoing projects and future plans that impact their communities.

 • Department of Economic Development: Support for small businesses, entrepreneurship programmes, and funding opportunities.

• Department of Transport: Information on public transport services, licensing, and road safety education.

 • Department of Treasury: Providing information on budgeting, public finance, and how government resources are allocated to improve service delivery.

 • Department of Sports and Recreation: Promotes healthy lifestyles through sport and recreation, encourages youth involvement in arts and sporting activities.

 • Department of Environment: environmental awareness, sustainability promotion, and public engagement. In addition, key entities and municipal services are also participating.

 • Rand Water: Water conservation education, information on bulk water supply, and awareness on sustainable water usage.

• Johannesburg Water: Assistance with billing queries, reporting of water leaks, and information on water and sanitation services.

 • Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD): Road safety education, by-law awareness, and information on traffic regulations and community safety initiatives.

The Rand Show, which takes place from 2-6 April 2026, provides the Gauteng Provincial Government with a unique and valuable platform to take services directly to the people in a space where they are already gathered.

It allows us to break down barriers to access by bringing critical information and government support closer to residents in a convenient and interactive environment. “Through our exhibition stands, we are able to engage face-to-face with communities, respond to their questions, and assist them with services that they may not always have the time or means to access during the week. This direct engagement strengthens trust, improves awareness of government programmes, and ensures that no one is left behind.

The Rand Show is therefore not just an event for entertainment - it is an important outreach initiative that enables government to connect meaningfully with the people of Gauteng and deliver services where they are needed most,” said Gauteng Provincial Government Spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga. Residents are encouraged to take full advantage of these services, ask questions, and engage with knowledgeable officials who are readily available to assist.

The Gauteng Provincial Government urges all attendees not to miss this opportunity. Before heading home, visit the government stands to access services that can make a meaningful difference in your daily life.
Together, we are bringing government closer to the people.
