ANC WELCOMES PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA’S DECISIVE ACTION

The African National Congress (ANC) welcomes President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to remove Comrade Sisisi Tolashe as Minister of Social Development in line with his constitutional responsibilities and commitment to ethical governance.

The ANC further welcomes the appointment of Comrade Sindisiwe Chikunga as Acting Minister to ensure continuity, stability and uninterrupted service delivery in this critical portfolio. This decisive intervention once again demonstrates the seriousness with which the ANC and President Cyril Ramaphosa approach the fight against corruption, maladministration and ethical lapses within the state.

Under President Ramaphosa’s leadership, the fight against corruption has moved beyond rhetoric into concrete action through strengthened law enforcement institutions, the signing of numerous SIU proclamations, support for independent investigations, and the implementation of organisational renewal processes aimed at building a capable, ethical and developmental state.

The President continues to lead from the front in ensuring accountability, transparency and consequence management across government.

The ANC remains resolute that public representatives and deployees of the movement must at all times embody the values, discipline and mission of the organisation, guided by selfless service to the people and unwavering commitment to transformation.

The movement will continue to support decisive leadership that protects the integrity of public institutions and advances the interests of the people of South Africa.
